The Walpurgis Society

Lead Walpurgists  -- This is a management role, largely internal, that involves keeping tabs on all that goes on, filing the appropriate paperwork, and ensuring everyone has the correct orders. They liaise with Upstairs (as it has come to be known, though up which stairs is a mystery) and retain a small clerical staff to help them with the administrative side of the work. Good penmanship and a clever head for numbers is advised. There are more than one of these in each location.

Field Agents -- These are investigators; they attend instances of supernatural disturbances, comfort the mundanes who have been affected (and fill their heads with plausible lies), and must be prepared to engage entities and creatures in combat if necessary. Weapons specialists are common (swordsmen, archers, gunmen... training is provided in-house by experienced Walpurgists ).

Internal Specialists -- Apothecaries, alchemists, demonologists, witches, archaeologists (specialising in cursed artefacts), weapons experts, strategists, combat experts, doctors, nurses, curators -- these are the people who keep the Gardens running smoothly and provide much needed expertise, advice, and medical treatment.

Public Relations -- Located exclusively in the Rose Garden, these people control the press around the instances of the supernatural and are quick to provide quotes and 'expert opinions' to dissuade the public from happening on to any real evidence. Some of them may also deal directly with people, and handle the unfortunate clean-up duties of removing people to mental institutions where necessary.

Watchmen -- posted like sentries all over the city, they pull long shifts keeping an eye on their assigned neighbourhoods.

Intelligence Operatives -- these are undercover field operatives; they keep their ear to the ground and do what they can to infiltrate the supernatural community. They are also present amongst Scotland Yard and in Parliament, and amongst other mundane places of importance.

Hunters -- these are almost freelance in the sense that they are paid in bounties, and specialise in specific species. Demon Hunters must have good knowledge of witchcraft in order to stand a chance of capture.
